Bridal Shows, Vendors, and Venues – Oh My!

01-31-2020

Where to begin? If you’ve recently attended a bridal show (and survived) you’ve likely collected all sorts of brochures, pamphlets, magazines, and other fodder all things wedding-related. Now what?

Start by making toss/keep piles to narrow things down. It’s good to do it as soon as possible so the people you spoke with and the stand-out options for your wedding are still fresh in your mind. Narrow things down further by categorizing them – venues, photographers, DJs/Entertainment, florists, etc. Then cut these down from two to four for each category. Now you’re making progress!

Of course, another a great way to narrow down your search (or just get it started) is getting recommendations from family and friends. And, if you have already nailed down a venue, many of them have a roster of trusted, experienced, professional vendors who know the lay of the land and are familiar with that specific venue’s policies. In fact, some venues actually require you to use their recommended vendors so be sure to check with them before you go off on your own booking spree – it could cost you a mandatory fee charged by your caterer!

If you signed up with a few vendors at the bridal show you can expect them to phone you within a week. If you’ve already eliminated them just let them know – otherwise, ask about their services, how long they’ve been in business, if they can provide anything at a discounted rate, and the like, and of course their availability for your wedding date!

If you’d like to know more about our services and/or what questions you should ask other vendors, feel free to call or email us at Studio27 – we’re here to help you every step of the way!

Happy Planning!
